The 2024 NFL season has kicked off with a mix of thrilling games, disappointing performances, and some significant injury concerns. As fantasy managers and teams assess their lineups, here’s a look at my advice on filling the gaps left by key players such as Puka Nacua and Jordan Love.

Week 3 Fantasy Football Recap

Performance: For the third straight week, I have significantly outperformed NFL.com’s start/sit. Here are the results:

Week 1:
BetLegg: 67.1%
NFL.com: 54.0%

Week 2:
BetLegg: 66.7%
NFL.com: 50.9%

Week 3:
BetLegg: 64.2%
NFL.com: 41.6%

Key Hits:

Jauan Jennings was the big hitter of the week, popping off for 46.5 PPR points after being a recommended start.

Malik Nabers was a stellar pick, delivering 28.2 PPR points. He is having a huge rookie season and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Amari Cooper also shined with 25.6 PPR points. He had been disappointing in the 2 weeks leading up to his matchup vs the Giants, and showed off after being a recommended start.

Dallas Goedert was another great recommendation, as he showed up against the Saints and put up 27.0 PPR points, and had some massive plays to help the Eagles secure the W.

Insightful Decisions:

We have hit on 75.9% of our sit recommendations this season.

Looking Ahead:

With 3 straight weeks of success, the vibe is high. We are looking to keep this rolling through the season.

Waiver Wire Adds

Quarterbacks

Aaron Rodgers, Jets (51% Rostered)

As stated in my starts/sits recommendations for week 3, Rodgers has been playing really good football. In the Jets 24-3 win against the Patriots on Thursday night, he displayed a high level of comfort with his knee and we saw him finally have the explosive game we’ve been waiting for. He is going to be popular on the waiver wire this week and for good reason.

Sam Darnold, Vikings (30% Rostered)

Sam Darnold is shockingly still only 30% rostered across fantasy leagues. The Vikings are 3-0, Darnold has thrown for 657 yards, 8 touchdowns, and just 2 interceptions on the season. Darnold is not expected to miss any time with a bruised knee, and he should be rostered in almost every league.

Running Backs

Bucky Irving, Buccaneers (36% Rostered)

Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said on Monday that Bucky Irving would be getting more touches going forward, and for good reason. Bucky has averaged 6.2 yards per carry (compared to Rachaad White’s 2.1 YPC) and has out-gained White on the ground in every game this season. White will still have more value in the passing game, but I expect Bucky to potentially surpass White in rushing attempts in the upcoming weeks.

Braelon Allen, Jets (36% Rostered)

Braelon Allen is looking like one of the best handcuffs in the league at the moment, gaining 141 yards and scoring 2 touchdowns on 25 touches in the backup spot in New York. If you are a Breece Hall owner, you should place Allen on your bench immediately.

Rico Dowdle, Cowboys (42% Rostered)

Dowdle hasn’t been flashy (yet), but he has been consistent. He is the lead back in an explosive offense, and if you are looking for a player with a solid floor and high ceiling to fill in for any injuries you have, he is certainly worth a look.

Wide Receivers

Jauan Jennings, 49ers (33% Rostered)

Jauan Jennings just put up 46.5 PPR points. He will be the most popular guy on the waiver wire this week. Deebo Samuel is expected to miss a couple of games, and Aiyuk has not looked good so far this season. Jennings has a clear path for a lot of opportunities to come his way.

Darnell Mooney, Falcons (26% Rostered)

Kirk Cousins seems to trust Darnell Mooney, and the numbers reflect this. Mooney has 11 receptions, 154 yards, and one touchdown over his last 2 weeks. Drake London is the only Falcon that has more targets than Mooney, leading that category 19-18.

Tight Ends

Cole Kmet, Bears (42% Rostered)

Cole Kmet had a huge game against the Colts, recording 10 receptions, 97 yards and a touchdown. He is likely to be inconsistent with the amount of weapons that Chicago has, but he can certainly creep into the TE 12-15 range on a weekly basis.

Mike Gesicki, Bengals (41% Rostered)

Mike Gesicki has been good this season, recording 14 receptions (T-4th) and 156 yards (3rd) on 18 targets (T-4th). He has yet to find the endzone, but he remains a very reliable tight end in a year where the position is struggling mightily.

Kickers

Matt Prater, Cardinals (10% Rostered)

Shoutout to Matt Prater for being the only active player in the NFL to eclipse 1,800 career points.

Jason Myers, Seahawks (10% Rostered)

Chris Boswell, Steelers (26% Rostered)

Defense/Special Teams

Dolphins D/ST (48% Rostered)
7.88 Projected Points vs TEN

Titans D/ST (4% Rostered)
7.37 Projected Points vs MIA
