We FINALLY have a new number one. The Chargers are on the rise, the Bengals continue to lose despite having a top-6 scoring offense, and I’ve stuck to my belief that teams on a bye shouldn’t move unless those around them force the change. Spoiler alert to the teams in the bottom quarter—none of you moved.

Below is the full list of the Power Rankings.

Quick Jump:

ARI | ATL | BAL | BUF | CAR | CHI | CIN | CLE | DAL | DEN | DET | GB | HOU | IND | JAX | KC | LV | LAC | LAR | MIA | MIN | NE | NO | NYG | NYJ | PHI | PIT | SF | SEA | TB | TEN | WAS

1. Detroit Lions (9-1)

Last Result: 52-6 vs Jacksonville

I finally get to rank the Lions at the number one spot, as they have rightfully earned their place as the hottest team in football. The Lions are averaging 33.6 points per game, have outscored their opponents by 159 points, and are riding an eight-game winning streak—all league-best marks.

2. Buffalo Bills (9-2)

Last Result: 30-21 vs Kansas City

The Bills have, at least temporarily, become America’s favorite team after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs and ending their perfect season. Josh Allen sealed the win with a 26-yard touchdown run on 4th-and-2 and is now the MVP favorite at +150.

3. Kansas City Chiefs (9-1)

Last Result: 21-30 vs Buffalo

After starting 9-0 with some of the wildest finishes you’ll ever see in a single season, the Chiefs were defeated by Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. Patrick Mahomes threw two more interceptions in the game, bringing his season total to 11—tied for the most in the league.

4. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-2)

Last Result: 18-16 vs Baltimore

The Steelers are now 4-0 with Russell Wilson starting, including back to back victories against seven-win teams. Mike Tomlin just one win away from securing 18 straight seasons without a losing record. It’s time to put some respect on the Steelers.

5. Philadelphia Eagles (8-2)

Last Result: 26-18 vs Washington

The Eagles are winners of six straight, and Saquon Barkley—along with other free-agent running backs—might be resetting the market for elite backs. With their win over Washington and a game in hand, the Eagles are in complete control of the NFC East.

6. Minnesota Vikings (8-2)

Last Result: 23-13 vs Tennessee

Riding a three-game winning streak, the Vikings are working to keep pace with Detroit in the NFC North. Sam Darnold appeared to regain his early-season form, throwing for 246 yards and two touchdowns while adding a rushing score in their win over the Titans.

7. Baltimore Ravens (7-4)

Last Result: 16-18 vs Pittsburgh

Lamar Jackson faced his kryptonite in Week 11, falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers and dropping his record against Mike Tomlin to 2-5. Despite the loss, the Ravens remain first in the league in yards per game (438.8) and second in points per game (30.4).

8. Green Bay Packers (7-3)

Last Result: 20-19 vs Chicago

The Packers have won 5 of their last 6 games, with their only loss coming to the top-ranked Lions. Coming off a bye, they defeated the Bears with a last-second blocked field goal. Jordan Love averaged over 20 yards per completion in the game, and Josh Jacobs continues to be an impressive piece of the offense.

9. Los Angeles Chargers (7-3)

Last Result: 34-27 vs Cincinnati

Justin Herbert has this team rolling. Winners of four straight, Herbert has thrown for 1,022 yards with 10 touchdowns and no interceptions during that stretch. The Chargers have a solid balance between the pass and the run and possess the league’s best scoring defense, allowing just 14.5 points per game.

10. Arizona Cardinals (6-4)

Last Result: BYE WEEK

The Cardinals were on bye, but after the Seahawks’ win over the 49ers, they now sit one game ahead of everyone else in the division and remain in control of the NFC West.

11. Washington Commanders (7-4)

Last Result: 18-26 vs Philadelphia

A short week to prepare for hostile territory against a divisional opponent was always going to be a tall task for a rookie quarterback. What’s more concerning is that they’ve lost two straight and are now 0-3 against teams with a record above .500 at the time they face off.

12. Houston Texans (7-4)

Last Result: 34-10 vs Dallas

An easy win against the Cowboys, where Texans fans took over AT&T Stadium as pieces of metal fell from the sky. It’s hard to take a lot away from the win, but starting running back Joe Mixon, once again, looked sensational. If C.J. Stroud can find the groove he had last season, this team will be tough to beat come playoff time.

13. Denver Broncos (6-5)

Last Result: 38-6 vs Atlanta

It’s officially time to consider Bo Nix a serious contender for Offensive Rookie of the Year. His odds have climbed to +300, trailing only Jayden Daniels at -400. Nix once again impressed in the blowout win against the Falcons, throwing for 307 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions.

14. Los Angeles Rams (5-5)

Last Result: 28-22 vs New England

The Rams have won four of their last five games, thanks in part to Matthew Stafford’s strong play since the return of star receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. Over the past four weeks, Stafford has thrown for 1,165 yards and 10 touchdowns.

15. San Francisco 49ers (5-5)

Last Result: 17-20 vs Seattle

The 49ers remain inside the top half of the Power Rankings based mainly on reputation and roster talent. Four of their five losses have been by one possession, with three decided in the final two minutes. If they can learn how to close out games, this 49ers team will be right back to where we expect them to be.

16. Seattle Seahawks (5-5)

Last Result: 20-17 vs San Francisco

The Seahawks defeated the 49ers on Sunday, a team ranked one spot ahead of them. However, having lost five of their last seven games, the Seahawks remain below the 49ers in the Power Rankings. The NFC West remains a tight race, and this win highlights that every team still has a shot at winning the division.

17. Atlanta Falcons (6-5)

Last Result: 6-38 vs Denver

Yes, the Falcons are leading the NFC South, but they sit outside the top half of my Power Rankings. They’ve lost back-to-back games and three of their last five. Ranking 17th in points per game (22.2) and 25th in points allowed per game (24.9), they’ll need to find consistency to remain atop the division.

18. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-6)

Last Result: BYE WEEK

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were on bye this week, but they managed to move from two games back of the division lead to 1.5 games back. They are also expecting Mike Evans to return for Sunday’s matchup against the Giants.

19. Miami Dolphins (4-6)

Last Result: 34-19 vs Las Vegas

The Dolphins, now winners of two straight, are clearly a much better team with Tua Tagovailoa at the helm. Without him, they averaged just 10 points per game; with him, they score 26.2. Sitting 1.5 games out of a wild card spot, Tua is single-handedly saving Mike McDaniel’s job.

20. Indianapolis Colts (5-6)

Last Result: 28-27 vs N.Y. Jets

After losing back-to-back games with Joe Flacco as the starter, the Colts inserted Anthony Richardson back into the lineup, and he posted a season-high 272 passing yards. Most importantly, he got the Colts back into the win column, and they now sit just one game out of a wild card spot.

21. Cincinnati Bengals (4-7)

Last Result: 27-34 vs L.A. Chargers

Joe Burrow is having arguably the best season by a quarterback in 2024 and would likely be the MVP favorite if his defense would help him out. He ranks first in passing yards (3,028), first in touchdowns (27), with just 4 interceptions, and a rating of 106.9. The Bengals have averaged 29.7 points per game over their last four games, but have allowed 32.5 points per game, and are just 1-3 during that stretch.

22. New Orleans Saints (4-7)

Last Result: 35-14 vs Cleveland

The Saints won their second straight game since firing Dennis Allen, and Klint Kubiak is back to calling effective plays. Taysom Hill might be the most versatile player we have ever seen, and with his 248 total yards and three-touchdown performance, they stayed alive in the NFC South with the win over Cleveland.

23. Chicago Bears (4-6)

Last Result: 19-20 vs Green Bay

Simplifying the offense seemed to benefit Caleb Williams against the Packers, as he delivered his best performance since Week 6. However, after their fourth straight loss, the playoffs are quickly slipping away.

24. New York Jets (3-8)

Last Result: 27-28 vs Indianapolis

The Jets continue to rearrange deck chairs on the Titanic, now firing GM Joe Douglas. The reality is this: Aaron Rodgers’ conservative playstyle isn’t working for the Jets. He’s not pushing the ball downfield to his elite playmakers, averaging just 3.5 air yards per attempt. Rodgers continues to place blame on those around him, while Breece Hall should be getting 20-25 touches per game.

25. Dallas Cowboys (3-7)

Last Result: 10-34 vs Houston

The Cowboys deserve to move down further in the rankings after announcing that Dak Prescott is done for the season, but since every team below them either lost or was on a Bye Week, they get to stay at 25. Jerry Jones is drowning this franchise, and they need to give Trey Lance, a former third overall pick, a chance to show what he is able to do.

26. Cleveland Browns (2-8)

Last Result: 14-35 vs New Orleans

Jameis Winston threw for 395 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions in the loss to the Saints. His impressive performance continues to show that the DeShaun Watson trade may be the worst trade in NFL history.

27. Carolina Panthers (3-7)

Last Result: BYE WEEK

The Panthers were on a bye and remain unchanged in the Power Rankings. Next up are the Kansas City Chiefs, a game that could potentially go down as the greatest win in franchise history if they manage to pull it off.

28. New England Patriots (3-8)

Last Result: 22-28 vs L.A. Rams

The Patriots surprisingly won two of their previous three games before the loss to the Rams. The team is in full rebuild mode, and it seems they’ve found their new franchise quarterback in Drake Maye.

29. Tennessee Titans (2-8)

Last Result: 13-23 vs Minnesota

The Titans allow the second-fewest total yards per game (292.3) and boast the top passing defense, giving up just 164.6 passing yards per game. However, the offense is where things fall apart, averaging only 17.0 points per game (28th) and 314.5 total yards per game (27th). They’ve scored more than 20 points just once this season.

30. Las Vegas Raiders (2-8)

Last Result: 19-34 vs Miami

If not in a class with Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix, Brock Bowers would almost certainly be offensive rookie of the year. He set the rookie record for receptions in a game with 13 against the Dolphins and is just 16 catches shy of tying Sam LaPorta’s record for receptions by a tight end in a rookie season.

31. New York Giants (2-8)

Last Result: BYE WEEK

The Giants were on bye last week, so they remain in the same spot in the Power Rankings. During their week off, they also announced that they will be benching Daniel Jones and starting Tommy DeVito this week against the Buccaneers.

32. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-9)

Last Result: 6-52 vs Detroit

The Jaguars’ defense allows the most yards per game in the league (425.6), while their offense isn’t much better, ranking 29th in offensive yards per game (309.0). Doug Pederson will likely not be employed for much longer.
