Changing it up a bit. A very brief, one sentence explanation as to why the teams are ranked where they are compared to where they were last week.
Below are the Power Rankings for Week 16.
Quick Jump:
ARI | ATL | BAL | BUF | CAR | CHI | CIN | CLE | DAL | DEN | DET | GB | HOU | IND | JAX | KC | LV | LAC | LAR | MIA | MIN | NE | NO | NYG | NYJ | PHI | PIT | SF | SEA | TB | TEN | WAS

1. Philadelphia Eagles (12-2)
↑2
Last Result: 27-13 vs Pittsburgh
They’ve won 10 straight games and just impressed against a strong Steelers team.

2. Buffalo Bills (11-3)
↑2
Last Result: 48-42 vs Detroit
They’ve scored 42+ points in back-to-back games and took down a juggernaut Lions team in Detroit.

3. Detroit Lions (12-2)
↓2
Last Result: 42-48 vs Buffalo
The 11-game win streak came to an end against a talented Bills team, and the Lions are now dealing with even more injury issues.

4. Kansas City Chiefs (13-1)
↓2
Last Result: 21-7 vs Cleveland
The Chiefs won a scrappy game against the Browns, but Patrick Mahomes’ new ankle injury is concerning.

5. Minnesota Vikings (12-2)
—
Last Result: 30-12 vs Chicago
Minnesota keeps pace with Detroit in the NFC North after a blowout victory over the struggling Bears.

6. Green Bay Packers (10-4)
↑1
Last Result: 30-13 vs Seattle
The Packers ended Seattle’s impressive run and have established themselves as a dangerous Wild Card team.

7. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-4)
↓1
Last Result: 13-27 vs Philadelphia
The Steelers felt George Pickens’ absence and will need him in Week 16 against Baltimore to stay ahead of the Ravens in the division.

8. Baltimore Ravens (9-5)
—
Last Result: 35-14 vs N.Y. Giants
They did what was expected of them against the worst team in football, and look to use the momentum in a pivotal showdown against the Steelers on Thursday.

9. Denver Broncos (9-5)
—
Last Result: 31-13 vs Indianapolis
The Broncos’ defense continues to prove it’s one of the best in the league with 5 takeaways, helping Denver blow out the Colts by 18.

10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-6)
↑4
Last Result: 40-17 vs L.A. Chargers
Winners of four straight, the Buccaneers are now firmly in the driver’s seat in the NFC South.

11. Los Angeles Rams (8-6)
↑4
Last Result: 12-6 vs San Francisco
The Rams have now won three straight and are sitting first in the NFC West.

12. Washington Commanders (9-5)
—
Last Result: 20-19 vs New Orleans
The Commanders narrowly avoided blowing a 17-point lead to the Saints, and I have concerns about whether they can beat a good team come playoff time.

13. Houston Texans (9-5)
—
Last Result: 20-12 vs Miami
Stroud’s sophomore slump continues, but the Texans win again and have now locked up the AFC South for the second straight year.

14. Los Angeles Chargers (8-6)
↓3
Last Result: 17-40 vs Tampa Bay
They’ve lost 3 of their last 4 games but still find themselves 2 games ahead for the final Wild Card spot in the AFC.

15. Seattle Seahawks (8-6)
↓5
Last Result: 13-30 vs Green Bay
The Seahawks’ four-game win streak comes to an end, and their Week 18 matchup against the Rams will likely decide who wins the NFC West.

16. Arizona Cardinals (7-7)
—
Last Result: 30-17 vs New England
The Cardinals snap their three-game losing streak but remain one game back in the division, making their matchup in two weeks against the division-leading Rams even more important.

17. Atlanta Falcons (7-7)
↑3
Last Result: 15-9 vs Las Vegas
The Falcons snap their four game losing streak to stay one game back of the Buccaneers in the NFC South, but have decided to go with Michael Penix Jr. to try and lead them to the playoffs.

18. Cincinnati Bengals (6-8)
↑3
Last Result: 37-27 vs Tennessee
The Bengals are finally able to overcome defensive struggles and secure a win, but the playoffs are looking unlikely at this point.

19. Miami Dolphins (6-8)
↓2
Last Result: 12-20 vs Houston
Tua Tagovailoa had four turnovers, and the Dolphins now only have a 7% change of making the playoffs.

20. San Francisco 49ers (6-8)
↓1
Last Result: 6-12 vs L.A. Rams
The 49ers lose their 4th game in the last 5 and are now essentially eliminated from playoff contention (less than 1% chance).

21. Dallas Cowboys (6-8)
↑2
Last Result: 30-14 vs Carolina
The Cowboys defeated the Panthers with ease on Sunday but have less than a 1% chance of making the playoffs in what has been a forgettable season for Dallas.

22. Indianapolis Colts (6-8)
↓4
Last Result: 13-31 vs Denver
Anthony Richardson struggled against a very difficult Broncos’ secondary, and the Colts will now be cheering for the Broncos to beat the Chargers on Thursday to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

23. New Orleans Saints (5-9)
↓1
Last Result: 19-20 vs Washington
The Saints fell just short of a comeback victory against the Commanders and now find themselves in the “less than 1% chance to make the playoffs” group.

24. New York Jets (4-10)
↑3
Last Result: 32-25 vs Jacksonville
New York finally gets back into the win column with Rodgers delivering back-to-back strong performances, but this disappointing season will end without a playoff appearance for the Jets for the 14th straight year.

25. Cleveland Browns (3-11)
↓1
Last Result: 7-21 vs Kansas City
The Browns hung around with the Chiefs for much of the game, but Jameis Winston ultimately threw three interceptions, the Browns lost the game, and he has now been benched in favor of Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

26. Carolina Panthers (3-11)
↓1
Last Result: 14-30 vs Dallas
Carolina made life difficult in their previous three games against the Chiefs, Buccaneers, and Eagles, but they struggled against the Cowboys as Bryce Young turned the ball over four times.

27. Chicago Bears (4-10)
↓1
Last Result: 12-30 vs Minnesota
The Bears have lost 8 straight games and have been outscored 207-118 during that stretch, including consecutive losses by 18+ points.

28. New England Patriots (3-11)
—
Last Result: 17-30 vs Minnesota
The Patriots lost again, but they have to be encouraged by how Drake Maye has performed this season despite working with the worst receiving corps in the league.

29. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-11)
—
Last Result: 25-32 vs New England
Perhaps the most surprising stat for this Jaguars team is that they’ve been in 10 one-score games but have managed to lose 8 of them.

30. Tennessee Titans (3-11)
—
Last Result: 27-37 vs Cincinnati
In a season where seemingly nothing has gone right, Will Levis and the Titans lost again, and he has been benched in favor of Mason Rudolph for Week 16’s game against the Colts.

31. Las Vegas Raiders (2-12)
—
Last Result: 9-15 vs Atlanta
The Raiders have now lost 10 in a row and are hoping to receive the first overall pick to aid their rebuild.

32. New York Giants (2-12)
—
Last Result: 14-35 vs Baltimore
Losers of 9 straight, the Giants are in the same position as the Raiders and are looking to secure the number one overall pick.
