The Chiefs remain at the top of the Power Rankings, still undefeated in over 10 months. There’s certainly a solid case for the Detroit Lions as the best team in football right now, but until someone takes down the reigning Super Bowl champs, the Chiefs stay on top. The Vikings made the biggest move in the top 10, losing their second straight, and falling victim to the ‘Lions curse’—teams that lose to the Lions have yet to win the following week. Meanwhile, the Eagles are finding their rhythm and shouldn’t be overlooked; they’re playing sharp, effective football.
The middle of the pack might be where things get most interesting. The Falcons jumped up to number 11 after their win over the Buccaneers, giving them sole possession of first place in the NFC South. San Francisco also notched a big win against the Cowboys, staying in step with the Cardinals, who secured a last-second victory against the Dolphins to claim first place in the NFC West. The Rams looked sharp with Kupp and Nacua back in the lineup and now sit just half a game back in the division. Meanwhile, the Bears lost a heartbreaker to the Commanders, as Jayden Daniels completed a 52-yard Hail Mary as time expired, dropping the Bears to 4-3 and to last place in the NFC North. The Chargers also moved up 5 spots, and their passing game is finally starting to look impressive, as Justin Herbert has now thrown for 865 yards in their last three contests.
The bottom of the power ranks shows the Dolphins jumping up two spots despite their loss to the Cardinals, and this is simply because they showed some fight in their last-second defeat. The same cannot be said for the Saints, who continue to plummet after losing their sixth straight game, and the Jets, who dropped their fifth straight against the struggling Patriots. Meanwhile, the Browns climb up six spots, as Jameis Winston has this team playing as a unit and had a very impressive win over the Ravens on Sunday.
